When a Sun Identity Manager deployment solution is completed, and all the consultants on the project leave, the customer Identity Manager engineer, or systems administrator, is typically responsible for managing and supporting the already deployed Identity Manager solution. The Sun Identity Manager 8.x: Administration and Maintenance course provides students with the technical knowledge and skills necessary to successfully perform administration and maintenance tasks needed to manage and support an existing Identity Manager solution for a given customer environment. This course covers concepts and tasks such as managing users, configuring resources, debugging common problems, and making simple business process changes to the existing Identity Manager forms and rules to accommodate change requests. Students are introduced to Identity Manager concepts as well as administrative and maintenance tasks through a series of lectures and labs designed around the core responsibilities that a systems administrator would perform on an identity management solution using Identity Manager.

IDM-2472 - Sun Identity Manager 8.0 Installation and Administration Essentials

The Sun Identity Manager 8.0 Installation and Administration Essentials workshop takes a student through the new features provided in Sun Identity Manager 8.0, how to install, update, and patch Identity Manager. Additionally, students will be able to add and manage resources, seed Identity Manager accounts, and utilize NetBeans within the staging and deployed environment to access Identity Manager objects.

ES-337 - Sun Grid Engine Administration

The Sun Grid Engine Administration course provides students with the necessary skills to install, configure, use, and troubleshoot Sun Grid Engine. This course describes installation and advanced administration of this product. Students learn how to use the command-line interface to submit interactive and batch jobs to the grid. In addition, students perform basic configuration tasks, such as displaying, adding, modifying, and deleting queue, host, and global configurations and complexes. The course also describes resource management and approaches for troubleshooting failures in the grid. Finally, students learn about the special scheduling features available in Grid Engine including the share tree, functional, deadline, and overrides scheduling policies. This course emphasizes hands-on lab work to present the features, functionality, vocabulary and concepts of GlassFish ESB 2.1 for Implementers and Developers new to GlassFish ESB. SAS-4455 - Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server Administration and Deployment

This 4-day workshop introduces you to various Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server (GlassFish) concepts and functions ranging from introductory to advanced and provides you with hands-on experience via remote labs for configuring, administering, and deploying web applications, EJB applications, and web services on GlassFish. Based on Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE), GlassFish lets you deploy services ranging from simple web applications to enterprise-scale applications and web services including applications based on JavaServer Pages (JSP pages), JavaServer Faces, servlets, and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) technology. Through a combination of instructor-led modules and hands-on labs, you are introduced to the Developer, Cluster and Enterprise profiles. You learn to configure, administer, and deploy web applications, EJB applications, and web services on GlassFish using these profiles and to enable various advanced GlassFish features, such as in-memory replication, high availability database (HADB), load balancing, monitoring and logging, clustering, and security. Based on Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE), Sun GlassFish Communications Server is a converged application server that combines enterprise service-oriented architecture (SOA) and Web services capabilities with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) servlets. It harnesses GlassFish Enterprise Servers power and ease of use, coupling them with project SailFins SIP capabilities that comply with SIP Servlets Specifications 1.0 and 1.1. Through a combination of instructor-led modules and hands-on labs, you are introduced to Communications Server and the technologies that it supports. The Sun Fire Workgroup Server Maintenance and Administration course covers installation, configuration, and maintenance issues on workgroup and mid-range servers within the Sun Blade and Sun Fire architectural line. The course covers the Sun Blade 1000, Sun Blade 2000, Sun Fire 280R, Sun Fire V480, and Sun Fire V880 servers.
