This hands-on training course focuses on day-to-day management of VMware? Infrastructure 3 deployments. It covers selected features of VMware ESX and VMware VirtualCenter. It does not qualify participants to attempt the examination for VMware Certified Professional status. For more information about how to become a VCP, see http://www.vmware.com/certification.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, you should be able to:

• Install and configure virtual machines
• Deploy virtual machines from templates
• Migrate and manage virtual machines
• Monitor and troubleshoot virtual machine problems
• Apply patches to virtual machines using VMware Update Manager

Class Size

Minimum of 10 students, Maximum of 14 students

Target Audience

Personnel responsible for day-to-day operations of an existing VI3 environment. (Those responsible for the build-out or scaling of VI3 sites should first participate in VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure V3.5 and then VMware Infrastructure 3: Deploy, Secure, and Analyze V3.5.)

Prerequisites

System administration experience on Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems
