Exam Description

The RHCT Lab Exam is bundled with RH133 Red Hat System Administration, but may be taken separately. Prospective enrollees in RH202 should consider taking RH033 Red Hat Linux Essentials, and RH133 in preparation for the exam, but these courses are not required in order to take it. Candidates are also advised that real-world system administration experience is an important aspect of preparation for the exam, and that study without such experience is unlikely to result in success.

Exam Requirements:

The RHCT certification exam consists of one part conducted in a half-day session. The exam is performance-based, meaning that candidates must perform tasks on a live system, rather than answering multiple choice questions.

The RHCE Exam consists of one section lasting 2 hours.

In order to pass the Red Hat Certified Technician exam, candidates must meet the following requirement:

• A score of 70 percent or higher on the RHCT-level skills.

Candidates will be emailed exam results within three business days following the exam.

Prerequisites:

• The Certification Lab Exam is bundled with RH133, but individuals who have taken RH133 prior to our offering the RHCT, and who have mastered the content of RH033 and RH133 can take just the exam.
